Terms of Service

1. The service

Office Connect is a marketplace that connects homeowners with hand-vetted craftsmen. Office Connect facilitates introductions, communication, scheduling, and invoicing — but the actual work, materials, warranties, and pricing are the contract between the homeowner and the craftsman.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under California law. By using the platform you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Accounts

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials confidential, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity on your account.

4. Homeowner terms

• You may submit a project request describing work you need. Office Connect will match you with up to three vetted craftsmen who serve your area.
• Estimates, schedules, and invoices are issued by the craftsman, not Office Connect. Approval of an estimate creates a direct contract between you and the craftsman.
• Payment is owed to the craftsman directly upon completion of the work, unless the craftsman has stated different terms in writing. Each craftsman accepts their own payment methods (cash, check, ACH, or card) and Office Connect does not currently process payments on the craftsman's behalf.
• You agree not to misuse the platform — including spam, abusive language toward craftsmen or staff, or attempts to circumvent our trust-and-safety controls.

5. Craftsman terms

• You agree to maintain valid licensing, insurance, and bonding required for your trade in the jurisdictions you serve.
• You agree to perform work safely, in compliance with applicable codes, and in line with the estimate you sent the homeowner.
• You will not solicit homeowners off-platform for work first introduced through Office Connect during the active engagement.
• Office Connect may suspend or remove your account for repeated complaints, missed appointments, license lapses, or violations of these Terms.

6. Fees

Office Connect's marketplace fees, if any, are described in your contractor agreement. We do not charge homeowners a fee to submit a project or receive estimates.

7. Content you upload

You retain ownership of photos, videos, documents, descriptions, and messages you upload. You grant Office Connect a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, and display this content as needed to provide the service. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this licence.

8. Intellectual property

Office Connect's name, logo, software, and content are owned by Office Connect Solutions and are protected by U.S. and international intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform without our written permission.

9. Disclaimers

Office Connect provides the platform "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not warrant the work performed by craftsmen on the platform. Use of the service is at your own risk to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by California law, Office Connect, its officers, and its employees will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total cumulative liability will not exceed (i) US $500 or (ii) the fees you paid Office Connect in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Office Connect harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Joaquin County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the platform and, where required by law, communicated by email. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
