Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Steady Craftsman, Inc. ('Steady Craftsman,' 'we,' 'us') collects, uses, and shares information when you visit officeconnectsolution.com or use our craftsman assistant services.
1. Information we collect
We collect three categories of information:
- Information you give us — name, email, phone number, postal address, ZIP code, project descriptions, photos / videos / documents you upload, contractor credentials and licensing details, profile preferences, and content you send through our messaging features.
- Information we collect automatically — IP address, device and browser identifiers, language preference, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps. We use cookies and similar technologies for these purposes; see our Cookie Policy.
- Information from outside providers — service status updates from Jobber (our job-management partner), email-delivery telemetry from Resend, SMS-delivery telemetry from RingCentral, and identity / sanctions screening when required by law.
Embedded intake through Jobber
Some public estimate and project-request forms are hosted by Jobber Client Hub and embedded into our site. When you use one of those forms, the details you submit may be collected directly by Jobber on our behalf, including your contact information, service address, project description, preferred timing, uploaded attachments, and related communication details. We use that information to review the request, follow up with you, and coordinate with an appropriate craftsman when there is a good fit. Jobber processes that information as an outside provider for job-management and customer-communication workflows. You can review Jobber's privacy practices at getjobber.com/privacy-policy.
2. How we use your information
- To support your project request — help craftsmen review project details, deliver estimates, schedule visits, and surface job history.
- To communicate with you — transactional email and SMS for sign-in codes, project updates, receipts, and customer-support follow-up.
- To keep the service safe — detect fraud, enforce our Terms, debug errors, and comply with legal obligations.
- To improve the product — measure feature use and performance in aggregate.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA").
3. How we share information
We share information only in these limited cases:
- With craftsmen you choose. When you submit a project, the contractor(s) you select see your name, ZIP, project description, attachments, and the messages you send them.
- With outside providers. Vendors who help us operate the service — Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), RingCentral (SMS), Jobber (job management), Front (customer-support inbox), Google Maps (embedded coverage maps), and Notion (contractor application tracking) — under contracts or provider terms that limit their use to providing services to Steady Craftsman.
- For legal and safety reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or court order; to enforce our Terms; or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- In a corporate transaction. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred subject to this Privacy Policy.
4. Your California rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
- Access the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, in a portable format.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, when we need it to complete a transaction you requested or to comply with a legal obligation).
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the services you requested.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information. Steady Craftsman does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service for exercising your rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@officeconnectsolution.com from the address associated with your account, or use the in-app delete option in your account settings. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days as required by California law (with one possible 45-day extension).
5. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the services and to satisfy our legal, accounting, and compliance obligations. Project records are typically retained for seven years to support tax and warranty claims; account profile data is retained for the life of the account plus a 30-day soft-deletion window during which a deletion can be reversed.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including TLS in transit, encryption at rest where supported by our hosting providers, signed session cookies, and the principle of least privilege for staff access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed in violation of these safeguards.
7. Children's privacy
Steady Craftsman is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Out-of-state and international users
Steady Craftsman operates from California and stores information in the United States. If you access the service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in the service and, where required by law, communicated by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
